The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) is the wholesale water supplier for Fort Worth and more than thirty surrounding communities. TRWD is one of the largest raw water suppliers in Texas, managing a system of reservoirs, pipelines, and treatment infrastructure that serves approximately two million people across 11 counties. Unlike many Texas cities that rely primarily on groundwater from the Trinity or Edwards aquifers, Fort Worth's water is predominantly surface water drawn from the Trinity River Watershed.
